Ingredients

– 2 lb (1 kg) Granny Smith apples, peeled and cut into 1.5 cm cubes

– 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup white sugar (brown sugar can be substituted)

– 2 tbsp lemon juice or water

– 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

– 1 cup rolled oats (quick cooking oats okay)

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 cup loosely packed brown sugar (white sugar can be used)

– 1/2 tsp baking powder

– 1 tsp cinnamon powder

– 125 g (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted

– 1 pinch salt

– Vanilla ice cream

Instructions

1- Ready to make your own Apple Crumble? It’s easier than you think! Start by preheating your oven to 180ยฐC (350ยฐF) and lightly greasing a 1.5-liter baking dish. This step sets the stage for a golden, bubbly finish that will have everyone asking for seconds.

2- Next, peel and cut 2 lb (1 kg) of Granny Smith apples into 1.5 cm cubes. Toss them in a bowl with 1 tbsp all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, and 2 tbsp lemon juice. Spread this mixture evenly in your prepared baking dish for a juicy base.

3-For the topping, mix 1 cup rolled oats, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup loosely packed brown sugar, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon powder, 1 pinch salt, and 125 g melted unsalted butter until clumps form. Sprinkle it over the apples and pop it in the oven. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the top is golden brown, then let it stand for 10 minutes to thicken up. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for that perfect mix of hot and cold!
