πŸ₯¨ Create an impressive dessert that’s perfect for parties and gatherings – these sweet cinnamon-filled rolls are guaranteed to disappear fast and have everyone asking for the recipe

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12 egg rolls (4-6 servings)

Ingredients

– 3 cups diced peeled apples (about 3 apples) for the sweet, juicy filling

– 4 tablespoons granulated sugar for sweetness

– 4 teaspoons of a flavoring (such as vanilla or spice) for depth and aroma

– ΒΎ teaspoon cinnamon for warm, spicy flavor

– 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice to balance sweetness and prevent browning

– 12 egg roll wrappers for the crispy outer layer

– Water for sealing the wrappers

– Oil for frying (vegetable oil recommended)

Instructions

1-First, prepare the filling by combining 3 cups of diced peeled apples, 4 tablespoons granulated sugar, 4 teaspoons of a flavoring ingredient like vanilla, ΒΎ teaspoon cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice in a bowl. Stir well to coat the apples evenly, creating a sweet and spiced mixture.

2-Lay out the 12 egg roll wrappers on a clean surface. If you’re using dietary substitutes, make sure they’re ready to go.

3-Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the apple filling in the center of each wrapper, avoiding overfilling to keep them from bursting during cooking.

4-Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll it tightly and seal the edge with a bit of water to hold everything in place.

5-Heat oil to 350Β°F in a pan or deep fryer. For those without a deep fryer, about ΒΎ inch of vegetable oil in a pan works well.

6-Fry the egg rolls for 4-5 minutes until they’re golden brown and crispy, flipping if needed for even cooking.

7-Once done, remove the egg rolls and drain them on paper towels. You can sprinkle them with powdered sugar before serving warm.

Notes

🍏 Use softer apple varieties like Gala or Fuji and dice them small for quicker, more even cooking inside the egg rolls
πŸ”ͺ Roll the egg rolls tightly and seal them well with water to prevent the filling from leaking and oil from splattering during frying
⏰ You can prepare the egg rolls ahead of time and refrigerate, but bring them to room temperature before frying to prevent sogginess and ensure even cooking
