Ingredients
– 26 ounces crispy chicken tenders or chicken breast cutlets
– 12 slider rolls
– 1/2 cup melted salted butter
– 3 medium garlic cloves minced or 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning or oregano
– 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
– 12 slices mozzarella cheese
– 1 cup thick marinara sauce, plus extra for serving
– 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, divided
– 1 to 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley (optional)
Instructions
1-Cook chicken tenders according to package instructions and let cool.
2-Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and lightly grease a 12×8 inch baking dish or line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
3-Slice the slider rolls in half and place the bottom halves in the baking dish.
4-In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes.
5-Brush the bottom rolls with half of the butter mixture.
6-Layer 6 slices of mozzarella on the rolls.
7-Spread half of the marinara sauce over the cheese and place the cooked chicken tenders on top.
8-Drizzle remaining marinara sauce over the chicken and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese.
9-Cover with the remaining 6 slices of mozzarella cheese.
10-Place the top halves of the slider rolls on the cheese.
11-Brush the tops with the remaining butter mixture and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
12-Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
13-Uncover and bake for an additional 3 to 5 minutes until the tops are lightly golden and the cheese is melted.
14-Use a sharp knife to cut the sliders apart along the roll perforations.
15-Serve warm with additional marinara sauce on the side.
