๐Ÿฅง Experience the irresistible aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls with this foolproof recipe that delivers bakery-quality results right from your kitchen
๐Ÿฏ Transform simple pantry ingredients into warm, gooey cinnamon rolls swirled with sweet cinnamon filling and topped with creamy cream cheese frosting

  • Total Time: 125 minutes
  • Yield: 10-12 rolls

Ingredients

– 2 and 3/4 cups (344g) all-purpose flour, plus more if needed

– 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 3/4 cup (180ml) whole milk

– 3 tablespoons (43g) unsalted butter

– 2 and 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast

– 1 large egg at room temperature

– 3 tablespoons (43g) unsalted butter, softened

– 1/3 cup (67g) packed light or dark brown sugar

– 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

– 4 ounces (113g) full-fat cream cheese, softened

– 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter

– 2/3 cup (80g) confectioners’ sugar

– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

– 1 cup confectioners’ sugar

– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 2-3 tablespoons strong brewed coffee or milk

Instructions

1-Getting Started: First, in a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt to build a solid base for your dough. This step ensures even distribution of ingredients, which helps with the rising process.

2-Mixing and Kneading: Warm the milk and butter until the butter melts and the mixture reaches about 110ยฐF (43ยฐC), then whisk in the yeast until it’s fully dissolved. Pour this wet mixture over your dry ingredients, add the egg, and mix until a soft dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 3-5 minutes until smooth.

3-Rolling and Filling: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rest for 10 minutes. Roll it into a 14×8 inch rectangle, spread the softened butter evenly, then mix the cinnamon and brown sugar and sprinkle it over the dough. Carefully roll the dough into a 14-inch log and cut it into 10-12 even rolls.

4-Rising and Baking: Arrange the rolls in a greased 9 or 10-inch pan, cover, and let them rise in a warm place for 60-90 minutes until nearly doubled. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC), then bake for 24-27 minutes until lightly browned; use foil to cover if they brown too quickly.

5-Finishing Touches: For the icing, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth, add the confectioners’ sugar and vanilla, and mix until combined. Spread it over the warm rolls and serve immediately. If you’re looking for more creative twists, check out our stuffed rolls recipes for inspiration on variations.

Notes

๐ŸŒก๏ธ Keep milk temperature around 110ยฐF for perfect yeast activation – too hot will kill the yeast, too cold won’t activate it
๐ŸงŠ For best results, use room temperature ingredients and don’t skip the resting time for the dough
๐Ÿฏ Don’t overbake – rolls should be lightly golden but still soft in the center for that perfect gooey texture
