πŸ§€ Loaded Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole is a hearty and satisfying meal perfect for fueling busy mornings or feeding a crowd.
πŸ₯“ With savory sausage, crispy bacon, and melted cheddar, this casserole offers a delicious blend of flavors and textures anyone will enjoy.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 servings

Ingredients

– 30 oz bag of frozen shredded hash browns

– 1 lb cooked sausage, drained

– 12 oz cooked bacon, chopped

– Salt, pepper, garlic powder (to taste)

– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

– 1 package country gravy mix

– 2 cups water

– 6 eggs

– 2 chopped green onions

Instructions

1-Cook the bacon: Place bacon on a baking sheet and bake at 400Β°F (200Β°C) for about 25 minutes until crisp. Once done, chop into small pieces after removing excess grease. Remember to reserve some bacon for topping the finished casserole.

2-Prepare the sausage: Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through. Be sure to drain off any excess grease to prevent the final dish from being too oily.

3-Prep your casserole dish: Lightly grease a 9Γ—13 inch baking dish to ensure nothing sticks and cleanup is easy.

4-Create the base layer: Spread the frozen hash browns evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

5-Add the meats: Distribute the cooked sausage over the hash browns, followed by most of the chopped bacon (reserving some for the final topping).

6-First cheese layer: Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese over the meat layer.

7-Season each layer: Lightly season each layer with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to your taste. Remember to go easy on the salt since the bacon and sausage already contain salt.

8-Prepare the gravy: Following the package instructions, prepare the country gravy using the gravy mix and 2 cups of water. Pour the gravy evenly over the layered ingredients in the dish. Mix very gently to combine without disturbing the layers too much.

9-Add the egg topping: In a separate bowl, whisk the 6 eggs until well combined. Pour the eggs evenly over the entire casserole. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.

10-Bake to perfection: Place in a preheated oven at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for about 45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the hash browns are cooked through. You’ll know it’s done when the center no longer jiggles when gently shaken.

11-Final touches: Once removed from the oven, sprinkle the reserved chopped bacon and the chopped green onions over the top before serving.

Notes

πŸ”₯ This casserole can alternatively be smoked at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for about 45 minutes until cooked through.
πŸ§€ Shredding cheddar from a block instead of pre-shredded yields creamier texture.
🎯 Adjust seasonings to your preference for the best flavor balance.
