🍫 Gingerbread Hot Chocolate Recipes deliver a warm, comforting drink infused with festive spices perfect for chilly winter nights.
πŸ”₯ This cozy beverage combines rich chocolate and aromatic gingerbread flavors to lift spirits and create a soothing treat.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

6 cups chocolate milk (or regular 2% milk, almond, cashew, soy, or oat milk for non-dairy options)

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (high quality recommended)

1/4 cup brown sugar (can substitute with granulated white sugar)

2 tablespoons cookie butter

3 teaspoons ground ginger

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

gingerbread syrup

pure maple syrup

molasses

honey

vanilla extract

whipped cream

miniature marshmallows

extra cocoa powder

cinnamon sticks

mini gingerbread men

additional spices (such as allspice or cloves)

Instructions

1-First Steps: Combining and Heating Begin by mixing 6 cups of chocolate milk with 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons cookie butter, 3 teaspoons ground ginger, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg in a large saucepan. Heat this over medium heat, stirring now and then to dissolve the sugar and cookie butter fully.

Warm the mixture for around 5 minutes, but keep an eye on it so it doesn’t boil or scald that could mess up the flavors. Once it’s hot and steamy, you’re almost there!

2-Finishing and Serving: Take the saucepan off the heat and pour the mixture into mugs, filling each one about three-quarters full to leave room for toppings. Add whipped cream, miniature marshmallows, and a sprinkle of extra cocoa powder on top for that extra touch.

Don’t forget a cinnamon stick for stirring and a mini gingerbread man as a fun garnish. Serve it right away to enjoy the best taste and warmth. For more ideas on seasonal drinks, check out our best winter recipes for even more cozy inspirations.

Notes

πŸ₯› Chocolate milk provides a richer flavor, but regular or plant-based milk works well.
🍫 Use high-quality unsweetened cocoa powder for the best taste.
πŸ”₯ Avoid boiling to prevent burning or scalding the hot chocolate.
