Ingredients
– 2 pounds (about 900 grams) ground chuck (preferably 80% lean / 20% fat for juiciness)
– ยฝ cup crushed crackers or Panko breadcrumbs (can use gluten-free options)
– 1 large egg
– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
– 2 tablespoons milk
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– ยฝ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
1-Form the mixture into an even disk and cut into 6 patties weighing about 1/3 pound (around 150 grams) each for grilling or skillet cooking.
2-Press patties slightly larger than your buns to allow for shrinkage while cooking, and make a small dent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing up.
3-If stacking patties, separate them with wax paper to keep them from sticking.
4-Preheat your grill or skillet to medium heat, around 350-400 degrees Fahrenheit (175-200 degrees Celsius).
5-Cook thick patties for 3-4 minutes per side, and thin patties for 2 minutes per side on a griddle, flipping only once or twice.
6-Serve the hot patties on buns with your preferred toppings and condiments for a complete meal.
