Instructions

1-Making a Christmas Tree Wreath Cake is an fun adventure that even beginners can master. Start by preparing your frosting: add the peppermint extract and divide it into bowls to color with the specified food gels. This step sets the stage for the cake’s festive look and flavor.

2-Preheat your oven to 140°C fan or 160°C conventional, and spray and line your cake tins for easy removal. Next, mix the dry ingredients: 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 3/4 cups caster sugar, 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, and 3/4 teaspoon salt, then add 3/4 cup softened unsalted butter until the mixture is crumbly. This creates a solid base for your cake.

3-Add 3 large eggs, 2 1/4 cups milk, 3/4 cup vegetable oil, 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt or sour cream, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon peppermint extract, mixing until combined. Divide the batter and color half with 5 drops red food gel. Alternate drizzling the batters into the cake tins and bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

4-Once baked, cool the cakes, trim the tops, spread pink frosting on a cake board, stack the cakes, and cover with frosting, then chill for 2 hours. For the final touch, apply another layer of green frosting, pipe a grass design on the sides with dark green frosting, pipe swirls with light green on top, add leaves in assorted colors, sprinkle decorations, and pipe a bow using red frosting. The total preparation time is 1 hour 30 minutes, cooking time is 45 minutes, and total time is 2 hours 15 minutes.
