πŸ… Brighten your meals with this fresh and vibrant restaurant-style salsa made right at home.
🌢 A perfect balance of tangy, spicy, and savory flavors that pairs wonderfully with chips and more.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: About 6 cups 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 can (28 ounces) whole tomatoes with juice

2 cans (10 ounces each) diced tomatoes with green chilies

1/4 cup chopped onion

1 whole jalapeno (quartered and thinly sliced)

1 clove garlic (minced)

1/4 teaspoon sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

Juice of 1/2 a lime

1/2 cup cilantro (plus more to taste)

Instructions

1-First Step: Wash all fresh produce thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt.

2-Second Step: Combine all ingredients in a food processor toss in the 1 can (28 ounces) of whole tomatoes with juice, 2 cans (10 ounces each) of diced tomatoes with green chilies, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1 whole jalapeno (quartered and thinly sliced), 1 clove garlic (minced), 1/4 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin, juice of 1/2 a lime, and 1/2 cup cilantro.

3-Third Step: Pulse the mixture 10 to 15 times until you get that smooth texture we’re after don’t overdo it, or it’ll turn to soup!

4-Fourth Step: Taste it with a tortilla chip and tweak the seasoning if needed; maybe a pinch more salt or extra cilantro for that perfect zing.

5-Fifth Step: Pop it in the fridge for at least 1 hour so the flavors can mingle and get even better trust me, patience pays off.

6-Sixth Step: Serve it up with tortilla chips or cheese nachos, and enjoy a big batch that feeds the whole crew.

7-Final Step: If you’re using a smaller food processor, do it in batches to avoid a mess I’ve learned that the hard way!

Notes

🌟 Use a large (12-cup) food processor or process in batches for easy mixing.
⏳ Allow the salsa to chill for an hour to deepen flavors before serving.
🌢 Add more jalapenos for extra heat, noting that the salsa can become spicier over time.
