Ingredients
3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce
1/2 medium onion, grated with juice
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
1. Combine all sauce ingredients (BBQ sauce, grated onion with juice, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar) in a 5-6 quart slow cooker. Stir well.
2. Add the chicken breasts to the slow cooker and turn to coat them evenly with the sauce.
3. Cover the slow cooker and cook on HIGH setting for 2 to 3 hours, or on LOW setting for 6 to 7 hours. Cooking time may vary.
4. Check for doneness: Chicken is fully cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 165ยฐF (74ยฐC) and shreds easily.
5. Carefully remove the cooked chicken to a cutting board.
6. Shred the chicken using two forks.
7. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir thoroughly to coat with the sauce.
