Ingredients
1 full recipe of orange cake batter
1 full recipe of strawberry buttercream
Fresh strawberries for garnish
Orange slices for garnish
Instructions
1-First, preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and spray the bottoms of two 6-inch round cake pans and two 6-inch square cake pans with nonstick baking spray to prevent sticking.
2-Next, prepare the orange cake batter according to your chosen recipe and divide it between the four pans, adding slightly more to the square pans for even height.
3-Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean, then allow the cakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
4-Once cooled, prepare the strawberry buttercream, opting for strawberry jam as an alternative to puree for a quick twist.
5-For assembly, place one square cake on a pedestal and cut each round cake in half, positioning the halves alongside the square to form a heart shape.
6-Spread buttercream between the layers to hold them together, apply a crumb coat, and chill as needed before smoothing on the final layer of frosting.
7-Finally, garnish the top with fresh strawberries and orange slices to enhance the strawberry orange cakeβs appeal.
